The American Planning Association, Hawaiʻi Chapter (APA-HI) and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) invite you to join planners, architects, engineers, community leaders, researchers, students, government representatives, and industry professionals for the World Town Planning Day “Mini-Conference” — Shaping Hawaiʻi’s Future: Planning with Communities on November 6, 2026, from 8:00 AM–7:30 PM at the Hawaiʻi Imin Conference Center, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Come together for a day of engaging conversations, shared perspectives, innovative ideas, and meaningful connections as we explore how thoughtful planning and community engagement can help create a more livable, resilient, and inclusive Hawaiʻi.
Conference registration is just $75 per person and includes the opportunity to participate in one of our special UH Mānoa Campus Tours at no additional cost. Register today and be part of the conversation. AICP CM Credits are being pursued for the sessions.
Explore UH Mānoa — Select Your Campus Tour
Go beyond the conference sessions and experience planning, design, innovation, sustainability, history, and place-making in action. Campus tour opportunities include a behind-the-scenes look at campus planning and the transformation of the Kūlia i ka Nuʻu Student Success Center, new public-private partnership student housing, the Maps, Aerial Photographs and GIS (MAGIS) Lab, and a decolonial huakaʻi exploring the Indigenous geography and history of Mānoa.
Tour space is limited, with most guided tours accommodating only 15–20 participants. Please review the descriptions and be prepared to select your preferred tour during conference registration. Some tours involve walking across campus, stairs, and specific attire or footwear requirements.
