This is the first Galaxy Formation and AGORA workshop in Europe following the Osaka and Seoul workshops in 2025 and 2024, respectively. In this workshop, we will discuss topics in galaxy formation and evolution that are being investigated within the AGORA collaboration but that are also of high interest in the community. In particular, we will focuss on the study of dwarf galaxies and their properties, the formation of galaxies at high-z and how the theory matches or not the recent JWST observations, and, the formation of disk galaxies and the morphology and properties of their non-axisymmetric structures.

In this event, we will have at most 60 participants experts in the selected topics and also that have some connection with the AGORA community. There will be only 10 talks every day and a lot of time for discussion.

Transportation


The easiest way to reach Lund is via the Copenhagen International Airport, Kastrup (CPH). Regular trains leave for Malmö and Lund every twenty minutes. The trip to Lund takes approximately 45 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the airport (one way ticket for Lund costs ca. €15). You can buy this either from the Danish Railway company DSB, or from "Skånetrafiken" - look for red-colored machines. Be sure to buy tickets for the entire journey to Lund before you enter the train (tickets cannot be brought on the train, and if you travel without a ticket, you will have to pay a high penality). You may need to show your passport to the Swedish police at the first train stop, so have this prepared.  When you reach the  train station in Lund, most things are in walking distance and we do not recommend taking a taxi, as much of central Lund is pedestrian. 

The Venue is "Gamla Biskopshuset", in Biskopsgatan 1, and is at walking distance from the Central Lund and also from the Lund Central Station (See map)

If you plan to travel in the region, we recommend to download the "skanetrafiken" mobile app. You can buy all kind of transportation tickets to travel in the city but also to Copenhaguen and to other cities in the Swedish Skane region.
