SPACE TO ATTEND IS LIMITED!

Welcome to the 2026 Aviation Safety Stand Down.  The Aviation Safety Stand Down is a FREE, annual event presenting topics and discussions to improve pilot safety in the State of Idaho.  This year we will be at the Riverside Hotel in Boise, Idaho, on Saturday, March 7th, and the event runs from 8:00am to 4:30pm

This event is sponsored by the Idaho Division of Aeronautics in partnership with the FAA Boise FSDO.  The Idaho Division of Aeronautics exists to "encourage, foster, and assist in the development of aeronautics in the state."  This includes managing 32 state-owned airports, helping Idaho airports with state and federal grants for maintenance and construction, assisting communities with zoning decisions near airports, promoting aviation safety, inspiring kids to enter careers in aviation, and coordinating aviation search and rescue.

AGENDA
The agenda can be found below and will be a great event with lots of topics including:
  • Idaho Aviation Accident Score Card
  • Mountain Flying Meteorology
  • Aeronautics Project Updates
  • FAA Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification

This year we are proud to have Mike Ginter from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and Amy Hoover, PHD 2022 National Flight Instructor of the Year  as a speakers.  In addition, we are excited that this year we will also have the Idaho Aviation Association Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
