Better Together: School Mental Health Summit

Better Together: School Mental Health Summit

Three Professions. One Mission.

December 8 - 9, 2026  ·  Concord Convention Center & Embassy Suites

For the first time, three professions will come together with one mission: to strengthen school mental health supports. The summit will convene North Carolina public school SISP professionals and leaders to strengthen coordinated, evidence-informed school mental health practice. The two-day experience will provide practical learning, cross-disciplinary connections, role-specific development, and tools participants can apply across prevention, early intervention, crisis response, student belonging, attendance, and family/community engagement.

Eligible participants are school social workers, school counselors, school psychologists, school-based mental health clinicians, and their supervisors and/or directors who serve North Carolina public school units (PSUs).

Keynote Speaker

April Simpkins, SHRM-CP, PHR, is an internationally recognized keynote speaker, leadership strategist, and mental health advocate with more than three decades of executive HR experience. As Founder and CEO of Paragon Strategy Partners, she equips emerging leaders with practical, people-centered strategies. She is a NAMI Ambassador, Founder of the Cheslie C. Kryst Foundation, and co-author of the book By the Time You Read This, advancing mental wellness and reducing stigma.
