Education Minnesota invites you to join us August 5-6, 2025

for the Education Minnesota Summer Leadership Conference

St. Cloud River's Edge Convention Center

Register for only one leadership conference strand:

Certified Negotiations Program (CNP-Teachers), Certified Negotiations Program for ESPs (CNP-ESP), Member Right Advocacy Training (MRA), New(er) President's Training, Union Leadership Development Program (ULDP), Union Financials - Treasurer and Membership Training, Organizing Fundamentals for ESPs, and Organizing for Teachers.

All sessions will be held at the St. Cloud River's Edge Convention Center.

The event begins noon on Tuesday, August 5 and ends with lunch on Wednesday, August 6.

Training is FREE and open to all Education Minnesota members.

Meals provided: August 5 lunch and afternoon appetizers, August 6 breakfast and lunch

Session Registration Deadline: Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 5 pm

Room Registration Deadline: Thursday, July 3, 2025

Note: Education Minnesota has an event group rate of $119 per room at the Kelly Inn conveniently connected to the River's Edge Convention Center.  Education Education Minnesota will pay for the cost of one (1) double occupancy room per local and an additional one (1) room for a local that sends an ethnic minority to the conference. Members must make their own hotel reservations, and rooms designated for Education Minnesota payment will be moved to Education Minnesota billing prior to the conference. A personal credit card will be required at check in for incidentals. Individuals/locals that need assistance with hotel reservations should email rob.gardner@edmn.org.

Presidents training is designed to provide local presidents with the knowledge and skills to have a successful term of office.
Member Rights Advocacy training develops members' knowledge and skills to assist other members in understanding their rights and resolving conflicts using a variety of strategies.
From Vision to Victory: Effective Organizing Campaigns for Educators
ESP locals have unique challenges with organizing members. This track centers the needs and concerns of our ESP locals. This series is open to all ESP members and is required for those accepted into the 25/26 EDMN Year Round Organizing Program.
This program aims to support current, emerging, and potential union leaders to develop their leadership skills, abilities, and philosophy building collective union power.

Registration

Education Minnesota requires that in-person professional development has 10 or more participants in order to ensure that members in these sessions have a positive, rich experience and we are effectively using member dues dollars. If a course enrollment does not meet this minimum, the course may be cancelled.


Hotel

The Kelly Inn, attached to the River's Edge Convention Center, has a block of rooms reserved at the conference rate. Members must make their own hotel reservations by July 3, 2025 and mention Education Minnesota to get the special conference room rate. Discounted room rate and room availability are not guaranteed after July 3. Education Minnesota will reimburse rooms (one per local) per policy for reservations made at the Kelly Inn prior to July 3. Reservations after this date or at other area hotels are not eligible for reimbursement. Please click the Hotel tab at the top to book your room.


Parking

If you are staying at the hotel, parking is included with the room charge. If you are not staying at the hotel, plan to pay for parking either in the ramp or for street parking.


IMPORTANT:

Education Minnesota will not reimburse any outside hotel or meal expenses.
