Planet Underground Roundtable - Can Technology Help with Ticket Volume Problem, or Do We Need More?
               
                     There is a big buzz about AI, robotics, and so much other new tech that is supposed to increase efficiency for everyone in the industry. Whether it's through 811 ticket management software, EM locators/GPR units, digital mapping solutions, or digging equipment, we have some new tools we've never had before. We know that there is a sizable amount of waste within the ticket volume that is simply refreshes for jobs that don't exist anymore, and other things of that nature, so can technology help address this waste? The ticket volume problem is arguably the single biggest crutch within the 811 system, so why hasn't anything been done to change this problem?
