Operation vs Regulation - CAA Delivery Review

Head of Flight Operations at the CAA with responsibility for oversight of all commercial aircraft operations, Approved Training Organisations and Flight Crew Licensing. With over 35 years in aviation, having joined the RAF in 1987 mainly flying Tornado GR1/GR1As aircraft based in UK and Germany. Flown in the operational theatres of Northern and Southern Iraq, with a period as a Simulator Instructor on Harrier GR5/7 before moving into commercial aviation in 1999 initially at GB Airways at Gatwick. Initially flying the Boeing 737 but converting to the Airbus A320 family shortly afterwards and remaining current on this type as a Captain, Type Rating Examiner/Instructor. Moving into management as Flight Technical Manager at GB Airways in 2000, and, after GB Airways were purchased in 2008, into management roles in easyJet. As Head of Aircraft Operations, being responsible for safety, technical, cabin safety, EFB, aircraft performance and airports/routes, as well as the Functional Check Flight for the testing of new aircraft and aircraft being sold. In 2017 moved to the CAA in the role of Flight Operations Manager – Aeroplanes prior to my current position as Head of Flight Operations.
