The 2023 Fuel Symposium is just around the corner in San Diego, California. To assist you in planning, we have provided some helpful information to make your arrival as easy as possible.
As many travelers will be arriving at various times, to provide the quickest ride (no waiting on shuttles), Fuel will be providing free Uber rides to and from the San Diego airport on your arrival and departure dates. When scheduling your pick-up, use promo code: Fuel2023SD and select SAN (San Diego airport) as your pick-up location and Omni as your destination; the app will specify which location for pick-up (there are two at the airport). Follow the transportation (Uber/Rideshare) signs to the designated pick-up location.
If you have any questions regarding using Uber, please contact Kate O'Bryant by phone at 503.680.4180 or by email at kobryant@fuelmedical.com.
If you choose to rent a car, valet at the Omni is $58 per night.
Thursday, June 8
The registration area will be located on the 4th floor outside the Grand Ballroom. You can access the 4th floor via the elevator or directly via the escalator from the lobby. Look for the directional signs and smiling Fuel employees. You may register before or after checking into your room. Event registration will open at noon and be open until 7 p.m.
Friday, June 9
Check-in will again be available in the hallway outside the Grand Ballroom on the 4th floor of the hotel, where the general session will take place. Registration will be available beginning at 7 a.m.
Upon registration, you will receive a welcome bag with the schedule and other event information. You can also visit www.fuelsymposium.com for event information, course schedule, detailed course descriptions and an event space map.
Business casual to smart casual is perfectly appropriate during the day. Nice shorts—go for it! Remember, meeting spaces tend to be a bit cool, so layers are advisable. The evening events all have an outdoor component, as we are in beautiful San Diego, so be prepared with a light to medium jacket. Friday's event is a walk-on "board" and on a historic "deck," so we do NOT recommend that attendees wear high-heeled shoes.
Currently, the forecast for the symposium dates shows sun and temperatures in the mid-70s during the day. Lows are projected to be in the mid-to-low 60s in the evenings. We suggest that you check the weather shortly before your departure for up-to-date information. Light-to-medium jackets are recommended.
When you registered, we gathered your CEU information. In order to receive your CEUs, you MUST scan into each class you attend. This year, we will be using digital check-in with a QR code located on your name badge. If you need any assistance with this, each classroom has attendants who can help.
Our CEU coordinator will verify and submit all documentation to the appropriate organization post-symposium. Please look for a follow-up email after our Symposium for CEU confirmation.
We are working with AAA and ASHA on this. Each organization awards .1 CEU per approved education hour. We are expecting the final number to be between .6 and .8.
Fuel staff will be available to assist you throughout the event. During symposium class hours, feel free to speak with any Fuel staff member or visit our on-site headquarters at the registration desk outside the Grand Ballroom. Outside of class hours, please call Kate O'Bryant at 503.680.4180 or Stuart Lyon at 360.991.2112 for assistance.
Uber transportation will again be provided for departure on Sunday. Simply use promo code: Fuel2023SD when scheduling your pick-up at the Omni. In the Uber app, you can specify your departure airlines, and your driver will drop you off at your preferred airline departing terminal.
