Facilitated
by national authority on instructional leadership and district effectiveness,
Donyall D. Dickey, Ed.D., will take a deep dive into the LIS components to
promote common instructional knowledge, language, and tools for K-12 literacy
instruction.
Balanced by theory and practicality, Dr. Dickey will delineate processes for aligning daily instruction with the nuanced expectations of North Carolina Standard Course of Study and high-stakes summative assessments necessary to drive and sustain academic achievement in the core content areas.
This diagnostic and prescriptive approach to improving student outcomes is centered around the strategic calibration of instructional knowledge, language and tools at each organizational tier (e.g., teachers, teacher leader, school-based leaders, central office leaders). Participants will leave informed, energized, and equipped with a concrete blueprint for integrating literacy practices into instruction in all grades and content areas characterized by support and accountability.
